STREET DETECTIVES

This topic is all about investigating our local area.  I wonder what we'll find out about Solihull if we take a closer look...

We will be learning all about our local area, looking at buildings and streets and thinking about how they have changed iver time.  Perhaps your Grandparents grew up in Solihull and can tell you about the things that they remember about the area when they were growing up?

We will make maps and plans of the area around us and write instructions of how to get from our school to different parts of Solihull.  We will be thinking about ways to make Solihull a better place and we might even write to the council to give them our ideas about what we would like to see in and around the area. Are you ready?  Let's get investigating!

World Book Day!

Wow!  What fantastic costumes there were on display in Year 2 today!  The children looked FANTASTIC and thoroughly enjoyed transporting themselves into the pages of their favourite books.

Drawbridges

After learning about winding mechanisms and designing our own, today we made our drawbridges.  We used an axle, barrels and string and produced some wonderful work.  Take a look!

Look at our wonderful homework!

I have been so impressed with the children's efforts at making shields, family crests and weapons for their homework.  They're fantastic!

Smashing smoothies!

We have designed and made our own smoothies as part of our topic work.  We have worked hard designing our smoothies using a computer program, as well as conducting a tasting session to select our favourite fruits!  They were delicious!

Marvellous Maths!
