I Am Greek

This half term, we will be learning about Ancient Greece, exploring when and where the Greeks lived, what they believed in and how they have influenced the modern world. We will be reading a collection of Greek myths, studying the mythical characters in detail, and creating fact files, character descriptions, and summaries of the myths.

In Science this half term, we will be learning about skeletons. We will explore the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates. We will also look at different animal diets—herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores—and learn what makes a healthy, balanced diet for humans. We will find out how bones and muscles work together and as an exciting activity, we will dissect owl pellets to learn more about what animals eat.

Jigsaw

Jigsaw PSHE - Relationships

In the Year 3 Jigsaw Relationships theme, children explore different types of relationships, such as those with family and friends, as well as how to interact safely online. They learn about the qualities of healthy relationships, effective communication, and staying safe on the internet. The unit also addresses conflict resolution, building self-esteem and understanding challenging stereotypes.

There is a wonderful website below that is useful for your child and for you as a parent. It has games and information about feelings, health, illnesses and sections on body image, mental health and much more. There is also a section for you, the parent, to refer to for information on the school nurse and it shows local Solihull support services.
