Volunteering - DBS Information
Parent volunteers are one of our most valuable resources. There are many ways in which you can volunteer to help:
-All classes would like support with reading for 20 minutes at the beginning or end of the school day. This can be a regular arrangement or done on an ad hoc basis when you find you have time.
-Support in class for a morning or afternoon. This would need to be arranged in advance with the class teacher. You would experience a range of activities working with the children.
-School trips. We always need parents to support on class trips.
-Swimming in Year 3. This is a weekly commitment to support our children in completing swimming lessons.
All of these would require you to obtain a DBS check through our school office. You would need to be able to come into school at least once every 3 months for the check to stay actuve.
DBS Applications
Please be advised that all parents who help us in the classroom or on school trips will now require a full police check (DBS – Disclosure and Barring Service). A Volunteer Helper Policy pack will be issued and completion of a Confidential Childcare (Disqualification) Regulations 2018 form will be required.
If you wish to help us in school, please click on the link below and complete the online application. Full instructions are also provided here. Please contact the school office for the organisation reference to commence your application.
