Autumn 2
Raging Rivers
This half term, our theme is "Raging Rivers." Our journey will take us across rivers from around the world, inspiring creative writing projects, including poems and non-chronological reports that capture the essence of river journeys.
We will explore the key elements of the water cycle, learning about different water stores and processes that keep our planet's water flowing. Through this, we will gain a clear understanding of the three stages of a river – the upper, middle, and lower courses – and the unique physical features found along each section.
This half term in Science, the children will have the opportunity to explore the natural world. They will focus on the plight of bees and the effect we as humans are having on their habitats, whether positive or negative. The children will look at the habitats of birds and will make observations of their homes over time.

Jigsaw PSHE -Celebrating Differences
Our Jigsaw topic this term is Celebrating Differences. In this unit, we will discuss our own similarities and differences, recognising that for some, being different can be challenging. We will explore the topic of bullying, examining how power dynamics can affect individuals within a group. Additionally, we’ll learn about people with disabilities, looking at inspiring examples of those who lead remarkable lives and achieve extraordinary things

There is a wonderful website below that is useful for your child and for you as a parent. It has games and information about feelings, health, illnesses and sections on body image, mental health and much more. There is also a section for you, the parent, to refer to for information on the school nurse and it shows local Solihull support services.
