Rainforest

This half term, our Geography topic will focus on the importance of rainforests, with a special emphasis on the Amazon Rainforest. Pupils will explore its key features, discover why it is vital to both local and global ecosystems, and investigate the impact of human activity on this unique environment. We will also compare the Amazon Rainforest to our local woodland area and suggest practical ways we can help improve and care for our local environment.

In Science, we will be learning all about light and shadows. Pupils will explore how light travels, identify different sources of light, and investigate how shadows are formed. Through hands-on experiments, they will observe how the size and shape of shadows can change depending on the position of the light source.

Jigsaw

Jigsaw PSHE - Changing Children 

This half term in Jigsaw, we will be learning about the changes that happen as we grow up. Pupils will explore the physical and emotional changes that boys and girls may experience as they grow up, helping them to understand and prepare for this important stage of life in a safe and supportive environment.

There is a wonderful website below that is useful for your child and for you as a parent. It has games and information about feelings, health, illnesses and sections on body image, mental health and much more. There is also a section for you, the parent, to refer to for information on the school nurse and it shows local Solihull support services.
